Yes! I'm gonna get a new groupset, considering Ultegra 6700 but with Dura Ace cranks as they look badass, would like to stay Shimano.

It'll also look better with brake cables that are integrated into the bar, would I be able to do that without getting a new bar? http://ap1.pinkbike.org/p4pb7923664/p4pb7923664.jpg this shows what they're like at the moment.

You should be fine at 25 miles, I wear Giordana bibs on a Fizik Arione saddle and I'm comfortable until about 60 miles.

Wow that isn't pro at all lol. The reason you're not getting along with proper saddles is because you're not using bibs. You don't have any padding at all on whatever you ride in right?

Kinetic, yes they don't weight much. And the reasons for that are? They're not using some form of ultra light metal or carbon, so they're either cutting bits out or using lower quality metal. I can't see them using higher quality at that price at all. You could shove some halfords own brand plastic derailleur on there and sure it'll be light, but awful quality and I can only say the same about this stuff.

Yes but it pales into insignificance when realising that you'll be putting over 1kg of water onto the thing, and 10 minutes extra in the gym per week will easy make up for a few hundred grams of weight on the bike. What about 105?

Don't get why you'ld get these, don't shift well at all, and weight doesn't really matter unless its rotational.

Sweet, should take a couple if those spacers and put them on top of the stem, looks and feels much better and is an easy job. Smile

Sweet, plus over time you can upgrade the Defy into a really high end bike, whereas with the Carrera the frame will hold it back.

The Giants have amazing frames for the price though. Defy 4 has the same frame as a Defy 1 (might be wrong) and very similar geometry to a Defy Advanced. Dunno about TDF.

edit: This is a Carrera TDF you're talking about? The Giant has a miles better quality frame than that, lol.

Yeah compact is just 2 front chainrings instead of 3, I prefer it, not for everyone though.

Giant Pinkbike Crew represent. Do they do a version with a compact chainset? I would go compact if I were you.

Also, what pedals you getting? I run SPD-SLs on my TCR Advanced and it's great, so so efficient, and if you're worried about getting used to them I was the same, took a week or two and then I was 100% confident with them.

Will ride similarly if I'm honest, they all use very similar geometry.
